Youth Boosters!

Goji berries are the latest anti-ageing fad to hit our supermarket shelves. I've always been sceptical of these 'can't live without' miracle cures adored by celebrities across the globe but I have to admit I was intrigued by these little, dried red berries.

Goji berries were originally discovered in the Himalayan mountains where they are considered to to be an all round superfood for boosting immunity, libido, strength and longevity. They're worshipped by Tibetan monks and the famous Li Quing Yuen, who allegedly lived to be 252 years of age, ate them daily.

So why should we be eating goji berries?
  • They're a cross between a cheery and a cranberry but strangely taste of tea and are surprisingly moreish
  • They contain 18 amino acids
  • They provide 21 trace minerals
  • They contain more beta carotene than carrots
  • They have 2000% more antioxidants than oranges and therefore can help to keep those wrinkles at bay.
  • They are really versatile and can be added to cereals, cakes, biscuits, smoothies etc.
Next time your out shopping why not give them a go?
