Feel Good Food

If you've been browsing my website lately you may have noticed a few changes. Well, I'm in the process of rebranding my business to focus specifically on wellness coaching, weight loss and healthy eating. There's going to be loads of exciting product launches and new new services from e-courses and books to an online members site and online food & lifestyle analysis. In the meantime here's an extract from the official blurb...
"Feel Good Food is run and owned by Charlotte Hunter, a fully certified coach. Having trained with and graduated from The Coaching Academy, the international leader in coach training courses, she is now one of their leading Course Managers and also co-manages the Surrey Coaching Professionals group. In addition to her coaching diploma, Charlotte is qualified in Holistic Health & Nutrition and is currently working towards a BSc in Nutritional Medicine at TVU.

Charlotte's Feel Good Vision is to pass on the food and nutrition knowledge she has amassed over the years to others, in order to help them make healthy choices about food whilst not denying themselves the things they love to eat.

The idea behind Feel Good Food is not to restrict what you eat or put you on a diet, but rather to expand your knowledge of food so that you have even more choice than ever in your menu.

Charlotte says, "I have been a health enthusiast for most of my life and have always made choices about what I put in my body, but not to the point that I don't enjoy myself and what I eat.

"Nutrition isn't about food we can't have or things that are bad for us. It's about going back to basics and eating what we really enjoy to maximise our health in a busy, stressful world.

I want Feel Good Food to be about real food for real people, specialising in healthy eating for busy people."
I've recently been given the opportunity to write a 'guest article' for the Just Too Busy Newsletter. JTB is run by Alex Greer who is one of the top 2 Virtual Assistants in the country and the probably the most efficient person I know. Anyway, here's the article. Enjoy...

Healthy eating and simply looking after yourself are serious challenges if you run your own business. Life can be a constant juggling act and it can often seem like there are never enough hours in the day. As a result healthy eating can sometimes take a back seat as you rush from one client or job to the next. If you really want to do the best for you and your business you need to give your wellbeing some serious TLC.

Ironically, if you optimise your eating habits your working patterns and productivity will naturally improve. You'll have more energy, better concentration, increased motivation and fewer mood swings. You'll also look healthier and feel more confident with glowing skin, a svelte figure and sky high energy levels, great news for networking, face to face marketing and long working days!

If you're a fan of diet coke breaks, 3pm biscuit binges or toast raids to fill the gap here's my 7-point plan to get you on the road towards healthy eating.

1. Fail to plan, plan to fail...
You probably schedule your work diary with military precision, so why not do the same with your meal plans? If you shop with a purpose, follow a list and stock up on healthy ingredients you're less likely to eat convenience foods or order take-aways when the cupboards are bare.

2. Are you eating enough?
I'm fascinated by how little some people eat; this is bad news if you're self-employed because you need to optimize your health by eating a balanced nutrient dense diet that will fuel your body, not starve it. If you're busy, stressed and burning the candle at both ends you need to nourish every single cell in your body. For a nutrient boost try sprinkling nuts and seeds on your breakfast cereal, introduce mid morning and mid afternoon snacks and serve an extra portion of veggies with every meal.

3. Be a domestic goddess
When you've had a busy day it's so easy to grab a ready meal from the freezer and bung it in the microwave. Unfortunately the sugar, salt, additives and hydrogenated fat content of these products will leave you feeling even more tired and sluggish. Wouldn't it be great to have a supply of healthy home cooked ready meals? Well all you need to do is freeze your leftovers or make batches of simple soup or one-pot recipes. So easy and more importantly so healthy!

4. Caffeine kick
Let me put it very bluntly, caffeine is bad news; it's a stimulant drug that overworks the adrenal glands leaving you feeling tired, stressed and anxious. It accelerates skin ageing; it messes with your blood sugar and reduces your absorption of essential nutrients. If you're a hardcore addict withdrawal symptoms can be unpleasant so wean yourself off it at your own pace and try healthy alternatives like herbal teas and rooibos tea.

5. Breakfast like a King
Skipping breakfast spells disaster for your energy levels and your willpower when it comes down to resisting cravings. To be at the top of your game you need to fuel your body with the right foods and breakfast is a great place to start. Protein and slow release carbs are great choices to keep you going. Try scrambled egg and rye toast; berries and yoghurt or muesli and your preferred milk.

6. Hydrate and replenish
Water is essential for head to toe health and fitness from your digestion and skin to your mental alertness and energy levels. Keep a 2 litre bottle on your desk and drink throughout the day and remember always carry a bottle in your bag when you're out and about.

7. Listen to your body
Always listen to your body; if you really want that all singing, all dancing, super size frappucino with extra whipped cream and chocolate chips then have it, just not every day. Healthy eating is all about balance and if you deny yourself the things you love you'll simply end up craving them even more. Try to follow the 80/20 rule so you can eat healthy most of the time but also have a guilt free window to treat yourself.

Alex has actually experienced my
Feel Good Now programme and here's what she said "I am eating just gorgeous, yummy food that is so good for me - my skin is clearer and my energy levels are up." If you want to find out more call me on 07770 736905 or email info@charlottehunter.co.uk or visit
